The editors of Pressed Wafer presented this award to John Wieners in April 2000. While gathering work for the broadsides it became clear that they could not include all of the poets and writers who would want to honor Mr. Wieners and his work. The anthology allowed them to cast a wider net. Among the nearly seventy contributors are: John Ashbery, Paul Auster, Clark Coolidge, Diane DiPrima, Robert Duncan, Kenward Elmslie, Barbara Guest, Bernadette Mayer, Michael Palmer, Ron Padgett, Anne Waldman, Lewis Warsh, John Yau and the editors.
