Analytic philosophy is sometimes understood in contrast to other philosophical movements, such as continental philosophy, Thomism, or Marxism. in the name of which they turned away from then-dominant forms of Hegelianism, which they accused of purported obscurity and objected to its idealism. The core assumption of analytic philosophy is that the problems of philosophy can be solved by showing the simple constituents of complex notions. This interpretation of the history is far from universally accepted, and its opponents would say that it grossly downplays the role of Wittgenstein in the sixties and seventies. Peter Hacker[21], reflects the view of Wittgensteinians when he contends that much contemporary philosophy that calls itself analytic does not deserve the title.
