Upon discovering that my struggle with our divorce system was not unique, that many others similarly experience the unconstitutional, cruel, and emasculating practices employed by our family courts, my desire to retain the confidentiality of our family secrets waned. It was superseded by an ardent urge to make known the serious effects upon innocents that result from the shameful practices employed within our divorce/custody system. Others have described these shortcomings in our legal system in a scholarly fashion from a technical perspective, and have demonstrated the need for remediation. However, the absence of corrective legislation and the fact that they remain relatively obscure to the general public signifies to this writer the necessity to portray these serious shortcomings from a more personal perspective. Purposely omitting the warts and blemishes would seriously dilute the message.
