In the latter year the Minister, owing to serious illness, spent greater portion of his time in the salubrious climate of Simla. His contributions were therefore few and far between, which had to be carefully selected from those of other contributions to the journal. Some articles written by him in 1881, which had been inadvertantly left out from volume I. published in 1903, have been inserted in the present book. In consequence of the hurry with which it has been published, several errors have crept in. The publisher hopes that in the next edition, the work will be made more perfect and complete.
