Description:Excerpt from Supplement to the Catalogue of Books in the Library of the London County Council Attention should be called again to the fact that the Council's library consists of all books belonging to the Council and shelved not only in the library and rooms connected therewith, but also in the committee rooms, the rooms set apart for the chairman, the vice chairman, the deputy-chairman, and the officers' rooms at the County Hall or attached to the County Hall. These latter, which are included in the catalogue, although primarily for the use of the department in which they are located, are always held available for other use as occasion demands, and when they have fulfilled the immediate purpose for which they are supplied, and are no longer in constant use in that particular department, they are removed to the library. It should be mentioned that in this, as in the preceding volume, the numerous books contained in that part of the Council's library which is located in the Education offices, have not been included. A separate catalogue of these books was issued by the School Board for London in 1901, and the Committee have it under consideration how to deal with this part of the Council's library.
