From the whole, the Government of the Commonwealth will be enabled to judge whether any other feeling, than that of gratulation and gratitude, can grow out of the contemplation of this enlightened charity. Commending it to the closest scrutiny and to the watchful guardianship of the Gov ernment, the Trustees would feel themselves wanting in a most pleasing duty, did they fail to notice, in conclu sion, how deeply the institution is indebted, for its un looked-for prosperity, to the able and devoted ministra tions of the Superintendent.
