Philemon Hawkins, Senior, Deceased: Born on the 28th of September, 1717, and Which Was Delivered on the 28th Day of September, 1829, at His Late Residence in the County of Warren, North Carolina T'his address was delivered by my late father, Colonel John D. Hawkins, in 1829, and was first published in that year. Very few copies of the original pamphlet are now known to be in existence. Believing that its re-publication will be of interest to the numerous descendants of its subject, Colonel Philemon Hawkins, Sr., I have decided to issue this second edition for private circulation.
