The aggregate not decrease of those States which Show a decrease in railway mileage not otherwise accounted for is miles. The length of line abandoned during the year is not abnormally great when compared with previous years. It is the failure of certain States to construct the usual amount Of new mileage that enables the mileage of abandoned track to cut any figure in the above summary.
