This struggle, unfolding in the citadel of world capitalism, in direct and intimate association with the working-class and popular movement, is all the more signiﬁcant because it is directed against the common oppressor — the monopolies. The efforts to cement a Labor-Negro alliance by mass action for Negro rights are designed to lay the corner- stone for a broad anti-monopoly coalition on which the progressive future of the country depends.
