Description:SYNOPSIS …..Sarah is ‘stuck’. Depression and under-achievement plague her since her divorce. Then one day something happens which awakens her to the world of spirit and her life begins to change in all sorts of ways. She meets a new friend, Catherine, a counsellor who also teaches meditation and spiritual development. Joining one of Catherine’s groups enables Sarah to meet new people and she develops a special friendship with one of them, Dennis. During an experimental meditation session Sarah ‘sees’ Ethan her childhood sweetheart, who took his own life several years earlier. Initially unnerving, this experience ignites a spark of curiosity and Sarah repeats the exercise at home, trying to contact him. She has questions about the meaning of life and death and she believes Ethan will have the answers. But the more she learns the more questions are raised. As her emotional strength returns so her awareness of spirit grows. She has visions of other times and hears voices, guiding her decisions. Is she losing her mind, or is someone ‘out there’ trying to help her? Her friendship with Catherine develops in parallel with the more surreal relationship with Ethan. Sarah has much to learn from both sides of the veil; about life and death and soulmates, and especially about karma. Although enlightening, this new knowledge raises unwanted issues around her life with her abusive ex-husband. Her conversations with Catherine become contentious; Sarah becomes confused and angry. Catherine and Ethan might be trying to help but it’s ‘information overload’, and she needs time to assimilate all she’s learned. A holiday alone helps her achieve a new perspective. She realises how much she owes her new friends. There are more visions, which she begins to recognise as past lives with Ethan. This opens up her perspective on life in general; she begins to understand that her difficult time in this life is only a small part of something much greater. In her mind, her problems finally begin to diminish. She is ready to go home and face the world, but even with her new understanding she knows it won’t be easy. To fully embrace life again she knows she must learn to trust someone and the narrative turns to her growing relationship with Dennis. She eventually realises that to commit to him and live fully in this life she must say goodbye to Ethan. Even though Ethan has promised her that Dennis is part of their soul group and will care for her, Sarah knows she has to take a leap of faith before she can move towards him. Can she trust her newfound knowledge? Can she trust Dennis? She has to make some serious decisions.In the end she realises she owes it to herself to engage with life again, that she will always be supported by spirit, and that she will one day be reunited with Ethan.
