Description:Preface Why this book? And why now? We are in the midst of a global pandemic. Life, as we know it, has become like a very uncertain episode from The Twilight Zone. The times are different. We all wear masks now. It has become mandatory, and we are forced to stay at least six feet away from each other. There is an underlying sense of panic, paranoia and perhaps even doom. And yet, there is always that escape into and inside the cool, warm, disarming arms of music. Strange, how sometimes it can soothe, stroke, evoke or magically remove us clean away from the constricting arms of melancholy. I truly do believe in the ghost-voices of music. Often, they cause me to shiver . . . but rarely do they ever BOO!I believe that music – whether it’s Soul, Jazz, R&B, Rock, Folk or Gospel – invades the marrow in our bones, dances sly and sexy tangos within our membranes and swims like a world class Olympian inside the waves and subtle ripples of our bloodstreams. I believe inside the rhythm of good music, beyond its inspiration and its inherent message, there thrives the heartbeat of God. A musical artist will enable audiences of any disposition to experience such instants through his/her creative work. There are musicians, singers and entertainers, and then there are artists. These days, the latter can be a rare breed. They are, of course, so blessed to be gifted with talents and abilities far beyond we, mere mortals. But beneath all those most awesome of attributes is the reality that they are completely unique. When you happen to see or hear, partake or really listen to them, you are suddenly transformed. And you are better, or at least, you are made more aware of your own humanity. So few true artists walk amongst us anymore. Oh, but there was a time, one golden epoch, when this earth was lousy with them. This book of poetry was inspired by the amazing and legendary goddess that is Nina Simone. The fact that she even existed is reason enough for her to be forever celebrated, whether in song, dance, theatre, film, literature, and yes, in poetry. In that spirit, I dedicate these words to the incandescently fierce and sometimes frightening force that was Nina Simone, and to the artistry of a soul clearly caught inside the turbulence of her time.We have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
