Description:Abstract: Report of spectral studies on fluorinated hydrocarbons by the Naval Research Laboratory and the University of Oklahoma Research Institute under Contract N7onr-398-T.O.1. Infrared spectra of 40 fluorinated compounds and Raman spectra of 25 compounds are presented. Vibrational assignments are proposed for CH2=CF2, CF2=CF2, CF2=CCl2, CF2=CFCl, CH3-CF3, CH3-CCl3, CF2=CF-CF3, cyclic C4F, and for nine fluorinated aromatics. Application of spectral data to analysis, molecular structure, thermodynamic properties, and molecular forces is discussed.
