Description:This book deals primarily with the railroad after its 1982 reorganization which brought it out of bankruptcy. The book is designed to show the railroad as it is now, with a brief look at the past. I have many fond memories of the Morristown & Erie as a child, having lived on Abbett Ave. in Morristown, just down the street from the tracks. Steam locos #10, 11 and 12 were the only ones I can remember seeing in those days. Along with some friends, we would look forward to hearing the whistle blow, which meant a train was either working in the small yard, or the train was returning from Essex Fells. Then all at once the steam was gone and a diesel appeared on the scene. After we moved to Dover, it was about eight years before getting back to watch the M&E again. This time, armed with a camera, I was ready to record the scene.
